Are they true or false?
“A MATTE WAX WITH AN ASTONISHING ALL-DAY HOLD”
False – Sorry Da’Dude, but Da Wax might be a waxy product but I did not get true matte results nor was there anything astonishing about the hold. I managed to work it in to a desired style but lost any endurance along the way throughout my day.
“DA WAX SAVES YOU MONEY”
False – Da Wax cost me £20.25. Is this not expensive in Sweden? For this price I expect the cream of the crop when it comes to hair styling products. I think the brand are going down the route of claiming that a little bit goes a long way here, telling us not to worry about the premium price point as if you may spend it anyway on cheaper supermarket products at some point down the line.
The thing is, for this to carry any value, not only does it need to be actually better than what the supermarket offers, it also needs to be better than everything else on the market upto £20.25 a tub. For true matte results, with no grease and a way better hold and endurance, this money would have been better spent going towards something like the Hairbond Moulder, one of my all time matte look favourites.
“OUR BEESWAX SPX FORMULA HAS A FRESH SCENT AND IS EASY TO WASH OUT”
True – The scent in Da Wax was quite fresh, nothing which blows you away and washability was good. It’s a waterbased product so washes out easily, no problems when washing out with shampoo.
“THIS BEAUTIFULLY HANDCRAFTED, WOODEN, ECO-FRIENDLY PACKAGING”
True – although the wooden tub looks a bit odd on the bathroom shelf, it’s super that it is eco-friendly packaging.
“OUR HAIR STYLING WAX IS MADE BY A SMALL, TRUSTWORTHY, FAMILY BUSINESS”
True – It’s true Da’Dude are a successful small family business and have brought many quality products to market, however for me, Da Wax isn’t up there as one of them.
There we have it, I hope these honest opinions help you decide if Da Wax is for you! This week we have more true or false with products from top brands including Hanz De Fuko and Hairbond United Kingdom.
