American Crew Fiber VS NEW Hairbond United Kingdom Power Leave a comment

We all love seeing new hair waxes launch right?? I’m excited to announce that this is an exclusive brand battle featuring the brand spanking new matte product, Hairbond Power Professional Hair Wax which hasn’t even officially come out yet. The Hairbond Power Wax is being launched alongside another new product, Hairbond Super Professional Hair Fibre and they are likely to hit barbershop and salon shelves just in time for Christmas. The team at Hairbond have been kind enough to send me a couple of prototypes for testing in preparation for their big pre-Christmas launch party. What better way to compare them but to put them up against one of the most popular selling matte products on the market. Today we will fight it out, American Crew Fiber VS Hairbond United Kingdom Power Professional Hair Wax.

We rank in 7 main categories, packaging, application, finish, consistency, hold, overall and what each brand has to say about their product.

What will rank higher? Will it be Hairbond’s new release, or Fiber by American Crew?

Before we decide, lets check out who these brands are and what they claim.

American Crew is a huge multinational and global corporation who say they have been redefining what it means to be a well-groomed man and as the global leader in men’s grooming and as the “Official Supplier to Men”, they have an ongoing commitment to elevating men’s style and enhancing their personal image by providing education and marketing which shares the brands’ vision.

Hairbond United Kingdom, on the other hand are a smaller international family firm who only specialise in quality premium products. They say with Great Britain being at the centre of the fashion world, they can claim rich customs and heritage that are connected with it. This brand says their products are not just a commodity but are a lifestyle essential. Their aim was to launch the highest quality brand with a superb range of products that prove that British haircare is truly the very best in the world. The Hairbond range has intended to deliver its promise of quality by maintaining the highest possible standards, using top of the range product formulations and ingredients to create an authentic British solution for the ultimate hairstyling results.

Let’s take a look, each category will be marked out of 5, first up is the Hairbond Power Professional Hair Wax!

Hairbond Power Professional Hair Wax

Packaging:

I can’t work out if this is grey or actually silver. As with all Hairbond packaging you really get your money’s worth! The level of detail is immense. The best feature for me is the inner tab which is resealable in order to keep your product fresh! Look spot on anywhere in the house, bathroom bedroom you name it. 5/5

Application:

Smoother than smooth. Like their Power Fibre, this Hairbond formulation has one major key ingredient which helps make the application process an absolute breeze. Keratin is a type of protein which actually makes your hair smoother and stronger. I’ve never seen this before in a hair wax. Works great! 5/5

Finish:

Natural matte look, use in conjunction with a hairdryer for best results. 5/5

Consistency:

Smooth and pliable. 5/5

Hold:

Strong 5/5 matte effect which lasts all day 5/5

Overall:

5/5

What They Say

Lets see how the American Crew Fiber can compete with that!

American Crew Fiber

Packaging:

American Crew Fiber has some tough competition when it comes to packaging. Is their style just old fashioned on purpose? This is a bit boring for me sorry Crew its a 2/5

Application:

I recently only just got my haircut. Whilst its application in short hair is great, when it gets longer I can spend way too much time on it, as it doesn’t work as well when applying to longer hair, more tug and pull, less texture and lacks strength. 4/5

Finish:

Nice matte look. Don’t over do the application, can start to look greasy 3/5

Consistency:

Nice consistancy. 4/5

Hold:

Anything longer than 4 inches starts to droop. 3/5

Overall:

3/5

What They Say

“Fiber-like, resinous product helps thicken, texturize and increase fullness to hair. Provides a strong, pliable hold with a matte finish. Works well in shorter hair, 1-3 inches in length. For high hold with low shine.”

And the winner is..

Scoring an impressive 5/5 overall, the new Hairbond Power Professional Hair Wax will go far. On this occasion, it beats one of the best selling matte products on the market only ranking a standard 3/5.

Looking forward to the official release, watch this space!
