OK now we’re ready for marking, each category will be ranked a score out of 5, first up is the NEW Hairbond Power Professional Hair Wax

Hairbond Power Professional Hair Wax

Packaging:
You really don’t get better than Hairbond when it comes to product packaging. Whilst some might say they’re too big, I think they’re luxurious and look spectacular on display. They do also offer some smaller sizes if you want smaller. Great attention to detail. Inner lid keeps product fresh at all times.
Application:
This formulation has one major key ingredient, Keratin. This is a type of protein which actually makes your hair smoother and stronger and is a new addition ingredient to both new Hairbond 2020 products. I’ve never seen this before in a hair wax before and it works great! 5/5
Finish:
Lovely matte finish. Very natural whilst giving a clean professional look.
Consistency:
This product breaks down much easier than I was expecting for a 5/5 hold strength. Perhaps the Keratine helps smoothen it out. 5/5
Hold:
Stronger hold than most high quality waxes I’ve tried. 5/5
Overall:
5/5
What They Say
TBA
Lets see how the TIGI can compete with that!

TIGI Bed Head Matte Separation

Packaging:
Cheap. 1/5
Application:
As a Matte Separation product, I expected this to be like an easy to apply matte clay. Frustratingly this gunky cream gives you more of a low shine finish. Application is sticky and you get some tug and pull. 2/5
Finish:
A bit sticky. Was expecting more clay-like properties from this product. As in, no shine and lots of texture. Unfortunately, the Matte Separation clumped together where I had applied the product and ironically, it was hard to separate. Had to use a brush. 2/5
Consistency:
Spreads into hand ok but then begins to get tacky. 2/5
Hold:
Due to tackyness, it actually holds ok. Don’t go out in the rain though you’ll lose it all.
Overall:
2/5. Disappointed.
What They Say
“Style hair with texture and definition with the Bed Head for Men Matte Separation Hair Wax. This strong hold hair wax adds hold, texture, separation and definition to styled hair. The hair wax has a natural matte finish and resists humidity for long-lasting hair styling. The Matte Separation Hair Wax is the most popular Bed Head for Men product globally.
Ideal for styling short to medium hair. Apply the hair wax to towel-dried or dry hair, then style and create extra detail with fingers. Top tip: the drier your hair, the more matte the finish and the wetter the hair, the softer the results.
Formulated with Beeswax for hair amazing texture and hold, Cera Carnauba, a medium-weight wax that gives a long-lasting workable hold and Glycerine that moisturises, conditions and nourishes the hair.
The hair wax is 85 g and comes with Fresh Green Aromatic fragrance.
Apply to damp or dry hair for texture and hold”

TIGI bed head Matte Separation VS NEW Hairbond Power WINNER

Hairbond Power Professional Hair Wax! Scoring full marks 5/5, it never looked like TIGI bed head would take this one.
I am very impressed with this new hair wax, I can see this working across multiple hair types and I can’t wait to see how it compares to the new Super Fibre.
On the other hand, I am disappointed in the results from the Matte Separation wax, I expected it to score much better.
Thanks for tuning in. I hope you found this helpful.
